🦋 September 11 Through the Storm, I Keep Walking
🦋 Your Journal Entry — September 11
Through the Storm, I Keep Walking
This week has felt like weather inside and outside of me.
There were bright mornings, heavy clouds, rain, wind so strong it destroyed my umbrella, and days when even getting out for my walk felt like work.
But I kept walking.
Along the way I noticed things I might have otherwise missed—a hawk circling overhead, dragonflies moving through the sky, butterflies crossing my path, grasshoppers and crickets, a squirrel carrying a nut, and quiet moments beside the lake.
There were also people crossing my path.
Some stayed for a moment.
Some offered conversation.
Some brought a smile.
And some reminded me that I cannot build my happiness around whether another person stays or goes.
This week I’ve been thinking about what I am building.
My creativity.
My books.
My website.
My videos.
My business.
My financial independence.
And perhaps most importantly, myself.
I’ve realized that I don’t have to change everything overnight.
I can take one step.
Then another.
I can rest when I’m tired.
I can listen to my own voice.
I can stop carrying things that are not mine to carry.
And I can begin creating a future that feels more like me.
Today is September 11.
A day when we remember lives lost, families changed forever, heroes who ran toward danger, and a nation that experienced an unimaginable wound.
There are some wounds we never completely forget.
But remembering doesn’t mean we have to live forever inside the moment of devastation.
We can remember.
We can grieve.
We can honor.
And we can still rebuild.
Maybe that’s what I’m learning in my own life too.
Some things fall apart.
Some things end.
Some things change.
But that doesn’t mean the story is over.
God can still lead us through the storm.
And I am still walking.
